Doctors making fools of themselves again and some other stuff

Well, we have another group of doctors who are trying to make major changes to hockey, and they are trying to the holier than thou approach, despite the fact that none of them have played hockey at any sort of actual competitive level.

The article I read was literally a bastardizing of hits in hockey that showed how little they actually are knowing of the game.

I am not going to put much more effort into showing how stupid these doctors are because they don't play hockey, but the end of their statement was this, How would you like to be 40 and dead. If there is much need to question these guys, it is right there.

Now onto some other items in the NHL that have caught my notice and the first I wish to speak of is the replacements in coaching that have happened in Los Angeles and Montreal.

Former Calgary GM and before that coach, Darryl Sutter is now the head coach of the Los Angeles Kings and the funny thing about this one, is that no one seems to think this is a good fit. I think this is mainly because GM Dean Lombardi is familiar with Sutter as they worked together in San Jose. I actually think that he will be good for the Kings as he is more defensive minded and will be a more disciplined team.

The other one in Montreal was a foolish mistake by a GM who should have lost his job a while ago. GM Pierre Gauthier gave Jacques Martin his walking papers and was replaced by Randy Cunneyworth. Personally I think Martin was doing the best he had with a GM who doesn't understand how to keep up with the current NHL. If you want to know why the Habs aren't winning, take a look at the size of this team, if hobbits could skate, it would be the same size as the Montreal Canadiens. The best skill lines have size as well and can perform in all pressure situation, the Canadiens can not boast this and they need to learn how to make a team for the current NHL, not the hay days they had in the past.

The other thing I would like to comment on in this blog, is probably one of my more common rants. Can we please have the media stop singing the praises of the NBC 7 and ignore the rest of the league. It has become almost nauseating how they praise the players on these teams and ignore players who play on other teams around the league. The NHL and the "experts" have got to learn that you just don't sell people one flavour of ice cream and tell them it is the best, give them all the flavours and let them decide for themselves.

That is all I have for now, until next time, keep your stick on the ice.
