We are within a week of the NHL All-Star Game Fan Balloting being wrapped up, and there is one thing that is painfully obvious about it. No one outside the fans of the Ontario hockey teams and fans of the NBC 7 teams really cares about it.
If you don't believe me, go take a look for yourself, the first player that is not based in one of the nine markets I mentioned above is Canucks forward Daniel Sedin in 17th place for forwards. Shea Weber is the first defenceman in ninth that is outside the nine teams mentioned above. Carey price of Montreal is in fourth for goalies but I want to show the fail of this system.
If the fans were more like me, they would vote on merit, not popularity. Seriously, most stars/superstars are going to make it usually based on their performance already, the top point getters are usually already going to get the invite due to the fact that they are putting up points.
All I have left to say on this situation is that I would rether vote for guys that normally going to go because it would be special for them, not for all the guys who go there year after year.
